MIART 2018 MILAN
CEDIT Prize for Object, developed as a partnership between miart and Cedit – Ceramiche d’Italia, has been assigned
to “Souvenir of the Last Century Stool 05” by Studio Nucleo – represented by Ammann//Gallery – whose work has been presented within the section Object,
curated by Hugo Macdonald, and donated to the collection of the Triennale Design Museum, Milan.
The jury – composed by Silvana Annicchiarico, Director, Triennale Design Museum, Milan; Stefano Torrenti, CEO Florim Ceramiche;
Christopher Turner, Keeper of Design, Architecture and Digital, Victoria and Albert Museum, London – says:
“ The collection of entries was impressive in its diversity this year, which suggests the Italian design landscape is healthy and vibrant.
We all agreed that Studio Nucleo is one of the most important and exciting contemporary design studios in Italy.
The stool we have chosen as the winner of the CEDIT for Object prize is a particularly poetic representation of their work.
It deserves a place in the Triennale’s permanent collection as a notable piece in the ongoing story of Italian design. ”
