In 1927, the famous Italian architect Gio Ponti designed the country
house L’Ange Volant (“the Flying Angel”) in a beautiful green setting
on the outskirts of Paris, for the Bouilhet family, directors of the silversmith
company Christofle. Imagined as a whole, from the front doorknob to the
garden, this house is the Italian architect’s only construction in France.

In 2019, Sophie Bouilhet-Dumas et Marie Bouilhet undertook major
restoration work with the support of architects Mathieu Barroux and
Mariangela Zanzotto. Today, L’Ange Volant offers a real immersion into
Gio Ponti’s world, where bespoke furniture designed by the Italian
architect lives harmoniously side by side with more recent objets d’art.
