“Metal Fossil” Copper fossil table, 2012
Nucleo_Piergiorgio Robino + Stefania Fersini
copper
420x460x390H mm
Unique piece exclusive to Gabrielle Ammann Gallery

Metal Fossil as the marks left behind.
Metal Fossil as formed by a variety of geological processes.
Metal Fossil as a process inspired from nature.

Nucleo plays on the presumption of designing the future of its objects, making them fossils of themselves.
As with the trace fossils where we find the imprint of the original item,
in the same way the implementation process that creates the object leads to the destruction of its original.

The Fossil tables are realized with a galvanic process,
the tables consists of a single block that accurately traces the handmade object from which they take shape.
Copper Fossil coffee table introduce a new chapter of unique pieces in the fossil project inspired by the metal ore.
