The project – curated by Gianluigi Ricuperati and produced by Barbara De Micheli
(in collaboration with Caterina Filippini) for the Institute for Production of Wonder, Torino –
is supported by Rinascente and it is an exhibition as much as an exceptional showcase for made in Italy realities/excellences.
PARA20SACRI is a narrative shop and a show, which connects a classic of the Roman material culture
– the emporium of sacred objects – with design, illustration, research crafts, and authorial graphic design.
At the new Rinascente, Via del Tritone, PARA20SACRI is the inaugural exhibition set inside the reproduction
in 1:1 scale of the Alberti’s Cappella Rucellai.
Andrea Branzi, Marco Cendron, Laboratorio Zanzara, Nucleo, Patricia Urquiola, Emiliano Ponzi,
Chiara Onida, Italo Rota, Cristiano Seganfreddo and Zanellato/Bortotto reinterpreted ten types of religious object,
producing 1000 pieces in limited edition, in collaboration with some Italian artisans and crafts workshops.
Designers’ suggestions came from images selected by Silvia Urbini, an expert in the field
of book illustration and in the books of divination between Renaissance and Baroque.
Studio Nucleo, among others, presents the project Souvenir Ex-voto,
in a selection of 5 unique pieces in limited edition.
