BY THE WIND

By the wind is one of the latest experimental projects of Studio Nucleo.
The concept is to create a surface with a high degree of uncertainty,
as if it would have been created during a natural phenomenon like a snowstorm.
The semi-finished object, a hybrid of nature and technology, is coated through a process
that recreates a surface similar to a natural object buried under a blanket of snow.

During the Milano Fuori Salone 2010 at the temporary Nilufar Gallery in Via Tortona, Nucleo made a live performance.
The performance consisted of recreating an artificial snowstorm once every hour.
A semi-automatic machine with a spray gun produced a hot layer of polyurethane for one minute, and a fan recreated its random design.
