Presenze as an evidence of past lives.
Presenze as ethereal, floating like ghosts.
Presenze as absence and immaterial substance.
Presenze and absence, appearance and immateriality, historical and afterlife forms. This is the inspiration for the latest research project of Nucleo.
The Presenze collection is a testimony of past lives, the evolution of obsolete objects.
The glories of the nineteenth-century baroque structures has been re-designed into minimalistic shapes, given a strong characteristic from its material, resin.
Nucleo has filtered disused names and experiences, re-worked old pieces of furniture such as consoles, desks, bedside tables and fireplace chairs.
The furniture is both ancient and contemporary, revived and restored into new life.
With the Presenze collection, Nucleo has created decorative etherneal objects floating through space. A game of presence and absence, of lightness and weight, challenging the law of gravity. The balance is made even more precarious by the milkiness of the resin, permeable to light. It’s a fascination for the transition, from liquid to solid, from past to presence.
And the lack of assemblage is one of the strong characteristics of Presenze. Each cube, a fragment, giving a sense to the deconstruction. The objects from other eras are in this sense apparitions ready to dissolve and split, in the struggle between materia and spirit.
The cubes, 5×5 cm are casted in epoxy resin and together create the objects. They are assembled by hand, giving balance between body and space, where individual fragments develop its own intensity - capable of capturing light and gaze - which goes beyond their function in the context of composition.

Nucleo plays on the presumption to design the future of its objects making them fossils of themselves.
As with the trace fossils where we find the imprint of the original item, in the same way the implementation process that creates
the object leads to the destruction of its original.
Copper Fossil table is realized with a galvanic process, the table consists of a single block that accurately traces the handmade object
from which it takes shape.

All the selected works will be presented in the frame of COUNTDOWN platform in a show-in-progress and during weekly presentations to the public at the COUNTDOWN venue in Bolzano from February 1 to March 17, 2012.
